You can recruit some gang members by pressing Up on the D-pad whilst targeting a member. Other gangs may try and take your territory, and it's up to you to defend it. That area is now highlighted green on the map. They may attack unexpectedly or in large numbers and also may attack from a car, Survive the 3 waves, and the area is yours. Keep a close eye on the radar, and watch where the attackers are coming from. The rival gang attack in 3 waves to defend their land. Killing 3 rival gang members on foot will provoke a gang war, and the area under attack will flash red on the radar. Enter the area you wish to control, and kill every opposition member in sight.
Winning territory involves gang war, and this must be done carefully. Bad, because not all sets get along, and good, because there's always plenty of backup available. In Los Santos, each of the 4 gangs are split up into different 'sets'. Each gang has its own territory, indicated by street warnings, wall graffiti, or simply violence. They hang around at Caligula's Casino which is owned by a few different Mafia groups and are constantly attempting to damage the Triad run Four Dragons Casino with their fake chips factory.Gang members are recognised by their clothing.
The Mafia are the biggest criminal organization in Liberty City, and moved to San Andreas with Don Salvatore Leone. The Triads are always looking for new business opportunities, and ways to make money such as the running of a Betting Shop and eventually the Four Dragons Casino. They are lead by Wu Zi Mu and Ran Fa Li and have a big problem with the Da Nang Boys. The Triads are another small San Fierro gang based in Chinatown. They have a strong dislike of the Varios Los Aztecas. Major interests in protection.Ī small gang based in San Fierro involved in the creation of drugs. At war with local Chinese ("Triads") gangs. They are sworn enemies of Varios Los Aztecas. The Los Santos Vagos are another extremely dangerous Hispanic street gang wearing the colour yellow. Known for wearing turquoise gang colours. Long term gang feud with Los Santos Vagos, as well as rivalries with all other street gangs in Los Santos. Heavily involved in gun running, street violence. The Varios Los Aztecas gang are an extremely dangerous Hispanic street gang. The Ballas are famous for wearing the colour purple which is supposed to be a sign of respect on the streets. Thought to be developing ties with Mexican (drugs) and Russian (weapons) mobs. Sworn enemy of all families' sets, especially Orange Grove Street. They are involved in drug dealing, gang bashing, prostitution, arms dealing, vandalism and degeneracy. A street gang that have been around since the 1970's. The Ballas are one of the major criminal organizations in Los Santos. The Grove Street Families can be instantly recognised through their green gang colour. The gang are rivals of the Ballas however have tried to make peace with gangs on a number of occasions without much luck. Elder members (O'G's) include Sean "Sweet" Johnson, Melvin "Big Smoke" Harris, Lance "Ryder" Wilson, Mark "B-Dup" Wayne and Barry "Big Bear" Thorne. The gang is in decline because of their determination to not get drawn into the drugs trade, but Carl will be aiming to change things and make the families a larger force in Los Santos. Made up of his close crew of friends and family, the Grove Street Families strongly dislike the drugs trade which is ruining the streets of Los Santos, San Andreas. Grove Street Families is the name of the gang which Carl will find himself taking a part in. Like every other GTA game in the series, there is a selection of gangs to work your way through, however GTA San Andreas promises to be a lot more involved in the gang side of things, at the start at least.
